ROMANIA boss Mircea Lucescu has been rushed to hospital after falling ill during a team meeting.
The legendary manager, 80, saw his side miss out on bagging a last-gasp route to the World Cup as they suffered a in their play-off showdown on Thursday.

left-back Ferdi Kadioglu grabbed what proved to be the winner to leave Romania’s hopes of competing in the summer extravaganza in tatters.
And there were worrying scenes when Lucescu collapsed just hours before he was due to jet off to Slovakia today.
The former Shakhtar Donetsk and chief is in a stable condition but undergoing treatment to stabilise his heart rhythm.
A statement read: “The Romanian Football Federation wishes to inform the public and media representatives about the medical incident that occurred today at the Romanian national team training camp.

“During the technical meeting preceding the last training session before the departure to Slovakia, coach felt sick.
“The first assistance measures were immediately taken by members of the national team’s medical staff, who provided him with first aid on the spot.
“Following the call to the emergency service 112, two SMURD crews urgently went to the training base.
“The prompt intervention of the medical personnel allowed the technician to be quickly stabilised.
“At this moment, the coach’s condition is stable. However, according to the medical protocols in force and to eliminate any risk, was transported to a hospital in the capital for thorough investigations and specialised monitoring.
“We will return with additional details as new information emerges.”

Members of Romania’s squad are still scheduled to travel to Bratislava tonight, ahead of their friendly with on Tuesday.
But Lucescu will not be in the dugout as he continues being monitored at hospital.
Assistant boss Ionel Gane will be calling the shots in the nine-time Ukrainian title-winner’s absence.
