In August, it was announced that the new mother would star alongside heartthrob Douglas Booth, after welcoming baby Palma in March.
This marks the first time in eight years that she has collaborated with ITV, following her time on Coronation Street from 2008 to 2014.
A TV insider revealed to The Sun in August: “This is quite a sensational return to work for Michelle, landing a significant role in a drama that executives are clearly investing in heavily, featuring an all-star cast including the handsome Douglas.

The new drama will see Michelle portray DI Emma Crane alongside Douglas as DI Tom Radley, tasked with investigating what ITV describes as “a tragic death that spirals into a tangled web of lies, institutional cover-ups, and moral compromise.”
The last time she appeared on the channel was back in 2017, in the three-part drama series, Tina and Bobby.
She played the role of Tina Moore, the wife of football legend Bobby Moore.
Earlier this year, Michelle and her husband became first-time parents when they welcomed their baby into the world.
The couple, who have been married for nine years, shared the joyous news with their social media followers.
They posted a black-and-white photo of their baby wrapped in a crochet blanket.
