The National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Debo Ologunagba, has asserted that the party is not in a state of coma.
Ologunagba made this statement in response to Governor Peter Mbah’s switch to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
On Tuesday, Mbah and his cabinet members officially transitioned from the PDP to the APC.
This follows the earlier defections of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State and Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State to the APC a few months ago.
In response, the PDP spokesman stated that while the opposition party is facing challenges, the departure of the governors will not adversely affect the party.
During an appearance on Arise Television’s ‘Prime Time’ last night, Ologunagba emphasized that the strength of the PDP is rooted in its people, rather than in its governors.
He remarked, “The PDP is not in a coma; it’s not in a vegetative state. Yes, we have challenges, some of which are external, but more harm comes from within. However, we are diligently working towards our convention.”
Is the PDP truly in a coma?
No, according to the National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, the PDP is not in a coma and is actively working on its challenges.
How has the defection of governors affected the PDP?
Ologunagba stated that the recent defections would not have a negative impact on the party, emphasizing that the strength of the PDP lies in its people.
