Man Utd next manager odds: Bookies reveal full list of candidates if Ruben Amorim is sacked

Published on May 21, 2025 at 11:08 AM

OLIVER GLASNER, Massimiliano Allegri and Mauricio Pochettino are the leading candidates to become Manchester United’s next permanent manager.

That’s according to bookmakers talkSPORT BET, who’ve revealed their latest betting odds for the job at Old Trafford should current boss Ruben Amorim be relieved of his duties.

While Amorim’s position is not believed to be under immediate threat, pressure is mounting ahead of tonight’s Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur.

A loss would leave United without European football for only the second time since 1990 – an outcome that could cost the club £100million and severely hamper a summer rebuild.

Since replacing previous manager Erik ten Hag in November 2024, Amorim has registered just 15 victories in 40 games in all competitions.

In the Premier League, his side have only beaten Fulham of the non-relegated clubs since December, taking two points from their last eight matches and enduring their longest winless top-flight run.

The statistics paint a stark picture: Amorim’s points-per-game ratio in the Premier League is now lower than Paul Jewell’s infamous tenure at Derby County during their ill-fated 2007–08 campaign.

But who is most likely to succeed him in the Old Trafford dugout?

Former Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri leads the betting markets at 4/1.

The pragmatic 58-year-old – once hailed as an ‘extraordinary technician’ by Sir Alex Ferguson – has often been linked with the position, and was the frontrunner when Ten Hag was axed in October.

He’s followed by Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner (6/1), whose stock is at an all-time high following his FA Cup success against Manchester City.

Mauricio Pochettino (8/1), currently in charge of the US national team, is available at 8/1 to make a return to the Premier League where he’s previously managed Southampton, Tottenham and Chelsea.

Also in the mix are Ipswich Town’s Kieran McKenna and ex-England manager Gareth Southgate, both at 10/1. Real Madrid legend Zinedine Zidane is priced at 12/1, alongside Aston Villa’s Unai Emery, Fulham’s Marco Silva, and Bournemouth’s highly-rated Andoni Iraola.

Further down the list at 16/1 are Inter Milan’s Simone Inzaghi, Roberto De Zerbi, Atletico Madrid’s Diego Simeone, and former Spurs and Chelsea boss Antonio Conte.
