ANTONIO VALENCIA shared a stomach-churning photo of a footballer’s “double leg break” before sending him a message of support.

The former hero uploaded the graphic image to his own social media platform after the horror injury during the LigaPro Primera A clash in Ecuador’s top flight.

The match between Independiente del Valle and Mushuc Runa was level at 1-1 as Jean Pierre Arroyo Vernaza looked to break through on goal for the hosts.

But he was caught in a late challenge by Brian Negro and it resulted in the terrible injury as the player instantly screamed out in pain.

As the player stayed down on the turf and yelled out, it all kicked off around him as Negro was sent-off.

Jordy Alcivar and Christopher Angulo – on opposite teams – both then got sent packing due to the large-scale brawl between the two teams.

Afer receiving treament on the park, Arroyo was transported by ambulance to hospital.

While no official timeline has been issued over how long he will be sidelined, it is expected he will miss the remainder of the 2026 season.

A club statement on the player reads: “Club Independiente del Valle, in light of the unfortunate injury suffered by our player Jean Pierre Arroyo Vernaza, deeply appreciates the overwhelming number of messages, expressions of affection, and concern shown by fans, clubs, and the entire football community.

“This support and solidarity are a fundamental driving force for Jean Pierre to face this moment with strength and return to the pitch stronger than ever.

“The club sends him all our strength and wishes him a speedy and successful recovery.

“The entire Independiente del Valle team and family are with him during these difficult times.”

The home side grabbed two late goals to defeat their nine men opponents in added time.

Matias Mijail Perello scored in the final minute of the 90 before colleague Juan Riquelme Angulo Caicedo added a second in the TENTH minute of added-time.

The victory made it three wins from three to open the new season as they remain the only club to boast a 100 per cent start to the campaign.
