Man Seriously Injured Attempting to Launch Firework from His Rear End on Bonfire Night

A MAN has been left with horrendous burns after trying to launch a firework from between his bum cheeks on Bonfire Night.

Shocking footage shows the rocket being inserted into his backside while a laughing pal fires it up in the middle of the street.

But rather than taking off, the projectile on the spot causing nasty burns to the victim’s bum.

Onlookers can be heard laughing as one splutters: “It got stuck in your arse.”

The man filming is then heard saying: “I’m going to p**s myself.”

The bizarre video shows the moment the explosive is first shoved into the man’s behind.

Bent over, the bearded man enquires: “Is it in?”

Moments later, a huge bang goes off as fails to take off.

The cameraman is heard saying: “That was hilarious. Wait there, turn around.

“I need to look at your arse.”

The man drops his trousers to reveal a large burn on his buttocks.

Struggling to see the serious side, his friend can be heard telling him: “It’s burnt the f**k our of your arse bruv.

“Bro you’ve got bad burns on your arse.”

The incident, which took place in over the weekend, was one of dozens of firework-related accidents.

According to the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), in the lead up to the number of firework mishap had risen by 42 per cent.

Latest figures from the said 246 such incidents occurred between 2024 and 2025, up from 185 in the previous year.

RoSPA said the stats highlighted “a worrying trend” in unsafe firework use and human error remained the “primary factor” in more than 75 per cent of incidents.

Rebecca Guy, senior policy manager at RoSPA, said: “Fireworks are powerful explosives, not toys.

“Only adults should handle them and never mix alcohol with lighting fireworks.

“The shocking rise in incidents over the past year is a stark reminder of the dangers they pose when misused.”

Area commander Ella Warden, from Fire Service, said: “Fireworks are explosives and their misuse can cause life-changing injuries.

“Fireworks burn at many hundreds of degrees and are up to 20 times hotter than boiling water.

“We encourage their safe and responsible use at all times.

“Please, never take risks that could endanger yourselves or others.”
