20-Year-Old in Critical Condition After Christmas Day Shooting; Four Arrested for Attempted Murder

A MAN is fighting for his life after being shot in the chest on Christmas Day, leading to the arrest of four individuals on suspicion of attempted murder.

A 20-year-old man was reportedly shot just before midnight in Sheffield.

Emergency services arrived at the scene on Wilfred Drive in Darnall at 11:27 PM.

According to South Yorkshire Police, the victim was rushed to the hospital, where he is currently in critical, life-threatening condition.

The police apprehended four men—aged 20, 22, 28, and 29—shortly afterward on suspicion of attempted murder.

All four remain in police custody as investigations continue, with a scene still secured on Wilfred Drive.

Authorities are urging anyone with video footage or information to contact the police.

Chief Inspector Andy Knowles from the Major Crime Team stated: “This is a shocking incident that has left a man fighting for his life.

“Gun crime poses a significant threat to the safety and well-being of our community, endangering innocent people who might become involved in the actions of offenders. Such behavior will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

“We are dedicated to taking strong, decisive action against anyone who engages in violence or carries illegal firearms, but we are more effective with your support; the support of our communities.

“We appreciate those who have already assisted our officers in the investigation and encourage anyone with relevant footage or information to step forward.”
