POLICE have initiated an urgent manhunt following the alleged sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl by a man in his 40s in a seaside town in the UK.
The disturbing incident reportedly occurred on Monday, October 13, during daylight hours on a busy street in Hartlepool.
Authorities stated that the man made inappropriate comments to the schoolgirl before attempting to touch her arm and chest.
Cleveland Police described the suspect as a white male, aged between 30 and 40 years, with short blonde hair and a clean-shaven face.
At the time of the alleged assault, he was wearing a camouflage-style coat.
The man is said to have fled the scene on foot, heading towards the Winterbottom Avenue area of Hartlepool.
Police are urgently seeking information that could lead to the suspect's arrest.
They are requesting anyone who was in the vicinity and may have captured dashcam footage of the distressing incident to reach out immediately.
Officers noted that the area was busy at the time, and they are asking anyone who was driving on Warren Road around 5 PM to contact them.
The police have also conducted CCTV inquiries in an effort to locate the suspected offender.
