Authorities stated that a cordon is in place, and Kingston Road and Chessington Road are closed in both directions while officers conduct their inquiries.
Senior investigating officer, Detective Superintendent Chris Friday, stated: “Firstly, I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences to the man’s family and friends for their loss.
“I understand there will be considerable concern and speculation in the local community regarding what has occurred, and I want to reassure you that we are working diligently to determine the exact circumstances of this man’s death and identify those responsible to ensure they are brought to justice.
“I appreciate the patience and cooperation of local residents while we handle this incident.
