A MAN has been charged with causing the death of his brother and nephew in a horrible crash that has “torn apart” their family.
Michael Webb has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving after his brother Peter Webb, 40, and nephew Ben, 12, tragically died in a horror crash on Saturday.

The crash happened at around 8.55pm, and both Peter and his son Ben sadly died at the scene after suffering serious injuries.

Sergeant Russell Surrey, of , said: “First and foremost, our thoughts remain with Peter and Ben’s family and loved ones following their tragic loss.
“We will continue to support them and offer any help we can at every stage of the investigation and upcoming court proceedings.”
Sgt Surrey added: “We understand the shock and upset that this incident has caused across South Tyneside, and we’re committed to providing answers as to exactly what happened on Saturday evening.
“With proceedings now active, we would urge everyone to refrain from speculation – both online and in the community – and respect the family and ongoing legal process.”
Peter and Ben’s family shared a touching tribute in memory of the father and son following their deaths.
They said: “Our world has been completely torn apart.
“We have no words to describe how devastating this has been.
“We will however continue to stick together as one while we navigate a situation we never believed we would be in.
“Peter was a kind wonderful human who would do anything for his family.
“Ben was the most incredible ray of sunshine with an unbelievable sense of humour.
“They are together forever.
“Please look after our boy, until we meet again.”
Witnesses at the scene report seeing a significant emergency response to the incident on Saturday, with several police vehicles, fire engines and present.
Tents were also set up to cover the crash scene, with police investigating the area.
The road was completely blocked off by police tape and large force vans.
