Man accidentally kills friend while testing bulletproof charm

A man identified as Bode has been arrested by the Ondo State Police Command for allegedly killing his friend, Tunde Akinmoyewa, while attempting to test a bulletproof charm.

The incident occurred last Tuesday in Laoso Village, Ondo West Local Government Area of the state.

According to sources, the unfortunate incident took place as Tunde Akinmoyewa, a 27-year-old ex-convict and self-proclaimed cultist, was purportedly testing the efficacy of a new bulletproof charm.

In a bizarre turn of events, Tunde reportedly requested Bode, his friend, to shoot him as a way of demonstrating the charm’s supposed protective power.

However, the test took a tragic and fatal turn when Bode discharged a locally made gun at Tunde. Shockingly, Tunde fell to the ground and was pronounced dead on the spot.

In the immediate aftermath of the incident, the suspect fled the scene before neighbors could arrive.

A source said; “To test the efficacy of the charms, Tunde asked his friend (Bode) to shoot him first. After Tunde’s friend picked up the guy and shot him (Tunde), suddenly, he fell down and died on the spot.

“Having seen what had happened, the suspect took to his heels before the neighbours arrived the scene and has not been arrested.”

Local sources report that the deceased was promptly rushed to the nearest village hospital, where medical professionals confirmed his tragic demise. The news of the shocking incident spread rapidly through the community, leaving many in disbelief.

The Ondo State Police Command confirmed that investigations into the matter have been initiated, and law enforcement officers are actively working to apprehend Bode, the alleged perpetrator.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Funmilayo Odunlami, expressed the gravity of the situation, stating, “Efforts are in top gear to arrest the suspect.”

In Funmilayo words;

”One Tunde Akinmoyewa, an ex-convict who is also a cultist, while testing a locally made gun believed to be newly procured was accidentally shot by one of his boys named Bode, surname yet unknown, as a result of which he died while being taken to hospital for medical attention.

“Meanwhile, the remains of the deceased have been deposited in the morgue while efforts are in top gear to arrest the suspect.”
