Social commentator Mahdi Shehu has condemned Nigeria’s recently proposed tax legislation.
He referred to it as tax terrorism, tax banditry, tax fraud, and tax genocide.
In a post on X on Thursday, Shehu stated that the law was conceived and drafted by malicious forces and urged Nigerians to oppose it.
“The greedy mind of evil conceived and proposed it. The hand of darkness wrote it with the ink of blood. The hand of wickedness forged it. The hand of God has revealed it,” Shehu asserted.
He encouraged the public to educate themselves about the law and to resist it with all their strength.
It is worth noting that on Wednesday, it was revealed that the upcoming tax laws had been modified. This claim was made by House of Representatives member, Hon. Abdulsammad Dasuki.
In a viral video on X, the lawmaker alleged that there are inconsistencies between the tax laws approved by the National Assembly and the versions that were published and made accessible to the public.
