Apologising for his rant, Steven said that the edit of the show “didn’t reflect the full extent” of what he was going through at the time.
Steven’s co-star Keye has now spoken about the fact that he’s placed some blame on the edit.
Talking to The Sun at Tulley’s Shocktober event, the TV groom said: “I think the edit can take bits out, the edit can move things around, but the edit can’t put words into your mouth.
“He behaved the way he behaved. I think taking accountability is incredibly important. We all make mistakes but you have to be accountable.”

Steven confronted fellow groom Keye after the former footballer accused him of interfering with his relationship, following comments made during cast drinks.
Storming into Keye’s apartment, who is married to Davide, Steven confronted the 33-year-old marketing manager, after Keye encouraged him to tell Nelly ‘how good she looked’.
Before the explosive encounter, viewers of the hit series were given context around the conflict, which stemmed from the night out that followed the commitment ceremony.
During the drinks, Nelly is understood to have informed Keye about fears she had about Steven, after claiming he “pulled back” since their honeymoon.
“Last night Steven and I had our first bit of conflict – I think the last couple of days I’ve just felt a little bit on edge”, Nelly explained.
According to Nelly, Keye told Steven to “tell her how good she looks”, as the pair walked into the drinks following a chat.
“He [Steven] didn’t like that”, Nelly added, before the couple had a tense conversation about the incident.
Steven told Nelly: “It feels like you’re going behind my back and talking s**t”, in a heated exchange, adding that sharing details about their relationship is “just going to blow up this situation more”.
Nelly claimed that Steven has “pulled back” and added: “You haven’t been the same since the honeymoon. That’s why I’ve needed more reassurance from you.”
Mafs couples that have stood the test of time
Loved-up Tayah Victoria and Adam Aveling of series six fame had the first Mafs baby.
The pair couldn’t keep their hands off each other on the programme and quickly found their feet in the outside world, moving into Adam’s Doncaster home.

Teacher Michelle, 29, has no regrets about taking part in the experiment. She told us: “I just feel very lucky and thankful that it has worked out – and excited for everything to come.”
Michelle and Owen were both sick of dating apps when they applied in 2019.
Owen recalled: “I had been out for some drinks with a friend after work.
“While he was out for a cigarette I was scrolling on Instagram waiting for him to come back in.
“The MAFS advert was the last thing I saw, and I joked, ‘Wouldn’t it be funny if I signed up?’
“A few beers later when I was back at home I sent in the application, and the rest is history.”
Another couple to make Mafs UK history is Zoe Clifton and Jenna Robinson.
Despite a slight rocky start, where they clashed over Jenna’s vegan lifestyle, the show’s first same sex pairing are still going strong.
They even have a successful podcast together called Life With a Pod.
Jenna shed light on being involved in the show earlier this year when she told us: “We’re not legally married, and I never felt like we were. I definitely feel the process makes you take the relationship a lot more seriously and having the help of the experts… if you can survive that process it sets a firm foundation for a long-lasting relationship.”
In one prickly moment. Steven told Nelly: “People don’t need to know my yet, because you’ll see a side of me probably, you won’t like.”
Steven then stormed into Keye’s apartment, confronting the groom in front of his husband Davide, over comments made on the night out.
Keye fired back at him, “I’m going to pick her up”, adding “that’s what you do when someone feels low about themselves”.
Cutting to the cameras, Steven said: “My relationship is my relationship and I don’t like people getting involved in business they shouldn’t be getting involved in.”
He added: “You are not part of this relationship, so see yourself out.”
