M5 traffic: Vital motorway shut in BOTH directions over 4 hours after ‘serious crash’ as emergency crews scrambled

THE M5 in Somerset remains closed in both directions between junctions 24 and 23 due to a “serious crash.”

The road will be closed this morning to allow for Police collision investigation to commence.

It is unknown when the road between Dunball and Bridgewater will reopen.

Avon and Somerset Police are at the scene, along with National Highways Traffic Officers.

Northbound traffic has been advised by National Highways to follow the solid triangle diversion symbol on the road signs.

While Southbound traffic is advised to follow the solid square diversion symbol on road signs.
