TOTTENHAM star Luka Vuskovic has equalled a Bundesliga record for the most Rookie of the Month awards while on loan at Hamburg.

The centre-back, 19, joined the club on a season-long loan deal last summer and has been one of the standout talents in the league this season.

Vuskovic is yet to kick a ball for Tottenham but is dazzling in the German top flight.

He is already , including and Barcelona.

His dominant defensive displays have caught the eye and he has underlined his talent by winning four Rookie of the Month awards this season.

After winning the award once again for March, he has now equalled a record set by in 2023-24.

That was the campaign when ‘s won their first ever title as Boniface netted 21 times.

Vuskovic could still break the all-time record with two more months to go in April and May.

His previous wins came in September, October and January, with Yan Diomande and Ibrahim Maza claiming the other awards.

To qualify for the award, a player must be under 23 and they can’t have played a Bundesliga match in any previous season.

And they must have only played a maximum of 450 minutes in the Bundesliga before the first game of the campaign.

Vuskovic has played 27 times for Hamburg this season, scoring a total of five goals.

He has certainly shown he has a knack for goal after chipping in with seven strikes while on loan at Belgian side Westerloo.

The 6 ft 4in star only turned 19 in February but is already showing maturity beyond his years.

And a report from Sky Sports claimed Spurs are bracing for interest from a number of sides.

Tottenham will be planning to bring Vuskovic back to north London next season, despite doubts over whether they will stay in the Premier League.

Last year, his path to the first team looked blocked by first team centre-back pairing and Mickey van de Ven, but the pair have underperformed this season.

However, former Spurs star Ramon Vega believes Vuskovic will never play for Spurs as the slammed the club over their handling of the youngster.

He tweeted: “This player is not coming back to Spurs! Another of many players Spurs had a chance with, but they made the wrong decision.

“This is an example of the problem Spurs have been having within the department! A total neglect.

“They will make good money, for sure, but there’s no football direction within the club. Off to Bayern he goes, no wonder I will not blame him.”
