Wake-Up Call
It was an embarrassing incident during a night out in Cardiff that served as Louise Gough’s final ‘wake-up call’.
“I felt so ashamed of myself that night,” the 30-year-old shares with Sun.

“My friend had to tie my shoes for me because I physically couldn’t bend down to do it myself without getting out of breath.”
Though it was mortifying, it proved to be the motivation she needed. Now, just over a year later, the mother of one is 6st lighter and has never felt better.
At a time when fat injections seem like the only solution, Louise is proof that they are not.
Weight Loss Journey
She dropped seven dress sizes the ‘NON-jaro’ way after trying and abandoning the ‘King Kong’ of fat injections, which made her feel unwell.
“I’ve tried pills in the past, but they completely upset my stomach,” Louise explains, noting they also caused her stomach cramps and dizziness.
Like many of us, Louise has attempted to lose weight countless times before, but this time, something “just clicked.”
“I haven’t fallen off the wagon this time, which feels strange to say,” she adds.
“I’ve failed many times in the past due to falling back into old habits.”
“This time, for some reason, it’s just stuck. I absolutely love how I look now.”
Key Secrets to Success
But what was Louise’s secret? And how can you achieve it too? The key, according to experts, is straightforward yet something many of us struggle with: building consistent, sustainable habits with the flexibility to treat yourself.
These are the same foundations that those on ‘miracle’ fat injections need to establish if they want lasting results.
This month, a survey revealed that while 12 percent of readers would consider trying injections, the vast majority are not interested.
However, 58 percent of you plan to lose weight in 2026 – the highest in four years.
For those wanting to lose weight without paying for injections, Susan Short, a specialist and spokesperson for the British Dietetic Association, advises setting a realistic pace.
“A weight loss of between five and ten percent over three to six months or one to two pounds (0.5-1 kg) per week is a realistic target,” she tells Sun Health.
“Seeking quick fixes can lead to a cycle of weight loss and regain, resulting in changes that can't be maintained long-term, which can diminish confidence and motivation.”
‘NON-Jaro’ Tips
‘NON-Jaro’ tip 1: SNACK TRACKER

To improve her diet, Louise began counting calories on the Team RH app, aiming for 1,800 a day – just 200 less than the recommended 2,000 calories for women.
Other helpful trackers include MyFitnessPal and Nutricheck.
Monty says that while tracking isn’t necessary long-term, it can be enlightening and a quick way to learn about nutrition.
“When you start counting calories, even if it just means checking food labels or looking at calorie information on menus, you begin to build awareness,” he explains.
“That awareness helps you make better decisions going forward.”
While for some individuals, calorie counting can feel empowering, Monty notes that it can also be stressful.
Other hacks include reducing portion sizes, eating out less, and being mindful of food choices.
