LORRAINE Kelly has discussed the harsh cuts to ITV's daytime programming and has encouraged viewers to “stay with her.”

The Scottish television presenter has been hosting her own self-titled show since 2010, inviting numerous A-list guests to join her for discussions about upcoming events and releases.

As part of a significant overhaul by ITV, Lorraine’s show, which previously aired from 9 am to 10 am five days a week, will now only be broadcast for 30 weeks each year and for just 30 minutes instead of a full hour.

In another change set to begin in 2026, Lorraine will host all five episodes herself, rather than being replaced each Friday by stars Christine Lampard and Ranvir Singh.

In a recent interview with The Standard , Lorraine expressed her hope that her show will continue to be a favorite among daytime viewers.

She stated: “My show has aired at various times, including half past eight, quarter to nine, and nine o’clock, 10 past nine… So I hope the audience will continue to stay with us, because that’s the most important thing to me. It’s heartwarming that people still enjoy what I do after all these years, and when I go out, people greet me like a friend, which is truly lovely. I don’t think that happens to many people.”

“You know that you’ve built that connection, mainly because I’ve been doing this for so long, but it’s something I never take for granted. It’s an honor.”

Lorraine is not the only show impacted by these changes, as most of ITV's daytime programming will undergo adjustments in duration, with the workforce across ITV Studios’ daytime operations being reduced by half.

Broadcasting will be extended until 9:30 am for its regular daily slot and 10 am when Lorraine is off-air. Additionally, production will switch to a dedicated ITV News at ITN team, integrating their news teams to enhance the show.

While This Morning will remain unaffected, Loose Women will also only run for 30 weeks a year, maintaining its current hour-long schedule.

ITV has indicated that it is considering a proposal to have Lorraine and This Morning produced by a single team, sharing resources and operations to reduce costs.

This announcement was made in May of this year but will take effect at the beginning of 2026.

Stars, including GMB’s Dr. Hilary, have confirmed their involvement in the changes.

Lorraine has openly expressed her disappointment regarding her show being significantly impacted by the cost-cutting measures. In an interview on BBC’s Desert Island Discs in November, she described the changes as “seismic.”

She remarked at the time: “I was disappointed, of course. This is the reality we live in now.”

However, she added: “Things need to change. I’ve experienced many regime changes throughout my career. For me, this is just another one, but it is indeed significant.”

“What has upset me the most is knowing that we have this fantastic team, and unfortunately, that won’t be the case next year because jobs will be lost.”

“I hope to retain some of these amazing individuals—that’s my goal. It’s very, very sad. It truly is.”
