DIGITAL entrepreneur and style icon Lorna Luxe has shared her experience with an eating disorder.
In an honest interview on the We Need To Talk podcast with host Paul Carrick Brunson, she revealed the devastating psychological impact that ultimately led her to leave her career in aviation.

At 45, known to her 1.6 million followers as Lorna Luxe, she is renowned for her lifestyle and fashion brands.
However, in a courageous admission, the influencer disclosed that her primary obsession for many years was managing her weight.
She explained that she developed a perilous fixation during her time as a cabin crew member.
Lorna was driven by the conviction that her profession demanded her to be slim.
“In my mind, success equated to being skinny,” she shared.
“And the skinnier I became, it felt like I had discovered the secret to success. I thought I was doing great.”
Lorna recounted how the constant access to food on long-haul flights quickly triggered unhealthy habits.
She remembered the temptations of night flights and her struggles.
Lorna remarked: “On a night flight home, after serving everyone their chicken nuggets and chips or whatever, there would be a lot of leftover meals in the oven. You’d just eat them.
“But in reality, it was an extra meal beyond what I actually needed. So I’d gain a bit of weight.”
In an effort to counter this weight gain, she began developing bulimic behaviors and ultimately manipulated her work schedule to conceal her illness.
What started as purging quickly transformed into calorie restriction, as she spent excessive time in hotel gyms: “I soon realized that I could possibly under-eat a little and maybe visit the gym a few more times.”
The struggle became so intense that Lorna began modifying her routes to accommodate her hidden battle.
She also started prioritizing locations where she could conceal her obsession rather than enjoy exotic destinations.
She explained: “So my trips and destinations changed because I was choosing, instead of going to Shanghai and shopping, I’d prefer to go, I don’t know, to a place for one night and stay in the Holiday Inn where I could access the gym.”

Lorna confessed that these choices were deliberate attempts to conceal her illness: “So I was literally selecting destinations to hide my eating.”
Ultimately, this desperation became the turning point for her to seek help, but not before the illness had taken a significant toll.
She stated: “That was really the trigger for me to inform my manager at Virgin that I wasn’t well.
“I think after that flight, I didn’t do any more flights... I was so unwell, and I just couldn’t see clearly. I was unable to reason.”
