It was the first of two nights at the near-4,000 capacity Auditorium Theatre in Chicago.
The Londoner later changed into a navy lace bodysuit and red leather shorts.
The tour is designed as a one-woman show around her 2025 West End Girl album, which chronicles her bitter split last year with her husband, US Stranger Things actor .
Lily last toured America in 2018.
Last month she played her first gig in seven years when she kicked off the UK leg of her West End Girl in Glasgow.
But as Lily was on stage for less than an hour and didn’t perform a single song from her other four records — nor say a word to the audience of adoring fans.
But she did bring in a trio of cellists for act one, before her appearance, to play hits like Smile, LDN and The Fear, complete with a projection of the lyrics so the audience could sing the songs for her while she was getting ready backstage.
The only insight she did give fans was in a handwritten letter printed in the programme.
In it, she admitted: “I really didn’t think I would get to do this again and I really hope you enjoy what we have put together for you.
“West End Girl has been a strange cathartic and chaotic thing to bring into the world, like, these songs were written at such a confusing time, I was so angry and upset and humiliated and I just poured it all into these songs.
“I’m better now, much better, and these songs no longer belong to me, they are for anyone that needs them.”
