CHELSEA star Levi Colwill is set to play his first game for the Blues in eight months after suffering a horror ACL injury.

He was expected to miss most of the season and has been a sore loss for after struggling in defence this season. and are also sidelined at present.

But Blues boss has now revealed Colwill is on the comeback trail and will play a behind-closed-doors match for the Under-21s this week.

Rosenior said: “Levi will play some minutes for the Under-21s tomorrow, which is fantastic for him.

“When you have a long-term injury, such as the extent of Levi’s injury, you need a long rehab period.

“I want to make sure that he’s 100 per cent right in terms of his match fitness before we consider him for selection for our first team.

“It [the game] has not been set up especially for him, but it’s something that we think is right for him in this moment, that’s come about in this moment for him.”

Colwill, who joined Chelsea at under-nine level, has played 75 times for the first team since his breakthrough season in 2023-24.

Rosenior also revealed Enzo Fernandez was available for selection ahead of Chelsea’s clash against Manchester United after serving a two-game suspension.

“As the season goes on, the less games you have left, the more important the games become,’ he said. ‘We have to take advantage of this moment.

“We’re running out of time. We need to show that initiative on Saturday evening and we need to play on the front foot and we need to make up those points, which is still definitely possible.”

Chelsea are currently sixth and four points off rivals Liverpool in the race for a top five finish.

Their opponents United, who are third, are also hoping to secure Champions League football and they are seven points off Chelsea.

The Blues could still catch United, who are going through a small dip after drawing 2-2 to Bournemouth and losing to Leeds United in their last two games.
