The faction of the Labour Party led by Julius Abure has commenced its congresses across the states of the Federation, with the exception of Abia State.
This information was shared in a statement by the factional National Publicity Secretary of the party, Obiora Ifoh, on Tuesday.

The statement indicated that the ward congress is scheduled for Tuesday, December 2, while the Local Government Congress will take place on Thursday, December 4.

According to the announcement, the State Congress is anticipated to be held on Saturday, December 6, at the party headquarters across the states.

Ifoh mentioned that the Abia State Congress has been postponed due to a State High Court in Abia restraining the party from proceeding with the congress in that state, pending the resolution of charges filed against the state leadership of the party.

“Although the party has decided to comply with the order, despite the court lacking jurisdiction, the party’s legal department has already initiated steps to vacate the order. This will allow Abia State to conduct its own congress at a later date.

“The supervision teams dispatched by the national leadership to various venues have returned with positive feedback regarding the progress of the congresses nationwide.

“The Labour Party is thus urging Nigerians to support the party in anticipation of the 2027 general election. We are restructuring to enhance our ability to lead this great nation in the near future,” the statement concluded.
