Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has announced that there will be no safe haven for criminals and kidnappers in Kwara State, according to DAILY POST.

During a meeting of the state security council in Ilorin on Tuesday, he reiterated the administration’s dedication to safeguarding lives and property throughout the state.

In response to the recent attack in Oke Ode, where armed bandits killed 12 residents, the governor promptly updated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and emphasized his request for additional federal forces to target the criminals' hideouts.

“The Army Headquarters has since transferred the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 2nd Division to Ilorin as part of renewed efforts to enhance security operations in the state,” he stated.

“On Monday night, a joint operation by the Army, DSS, and Police was launched around Baba Sango, near the Kwara–Kogi border, resulting in the neutralization of approximately 15 armed bandits.

“This operation continued on Tuesday. Last night, I chaired the State Security Council meeting at Ahmadu Bello House, Ilorin, to coordinate state and federal resources into a unified strategy for both Kwara North and South.”

Governor AbdulRazaq assured the people of Kwara that his administration will not waver in its support for security agencies to ensure the safety of every community.

“I have received assurances from the security forces that they will root out and eliminate criminals from their hideouts. We will combat insecurity using every resource available to us. Kwara will not serve as a refuge for criminals.

” To any criminal intending to disrupt the peace in Kwara, you may flee, but you cannot evade justice. Kwara belongs to its citizens, and their peace will be safeguarded,” the Governor concluded, as stated by his spokesman, Rafiu Ajakaye, in Ilorin on Wednesday.
