The Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has confirmed the release of 38 individuals who were abducted during the assault on Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Eruku, located in the Ekiti Local Government Area.
The victims, who were taken during the attack on the church last week, regained their freedom on Sunday.
In a statement from his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, the governor indicated that this development followed several days of coordinated efforts by security agencies and federal authorities.
He mentioned that President Bola Tinubu had ordered an increase in security operations in response to the incidents occurring in Kwara and Kebbi states, which included the deployment of additional tactical teams to Kwara.
AbdulRazaq expressed gratitude to the Office of the National Security Adviser, the Department of State Services, the Nigerian Army, the Nigeria Intelligence Agency, and the Nigeria Police Force for their contributions to the rescue operation.
He also praised community leaders and residents for their support during this challenging time.
