Her admission to the sudden weight loss came after she dropped to the stage during a performance in Macau on Sunday.
Terrifying footage shows the moment Hyuna collapsed while performing her song Bubble Pop at the Waterbomb 2025 music festival needing to be carried off the stage by security guards.
Fans expressed their shock and concern for her health on social media after the ordeal.
Korea Times reported Hyuna’s weight loss revelation after online trolling and rumours of weight gain and pregnancy had plagued the pop star.
She received backlash over her weight gain after being snapped at the airport with her husband, former idol Yong Jun Hyung.
In an Instagram post to her 16.1 million followers she revealed her scales, reading shocking 49kg (108lbs), admitting the challenge of “changing the first digit” of her weight, saying she “still had a long way to go”.
Following her collapse, Hyuna also posted an apology to her fans.
“I’m truly, truly sorry. I’ll try to build my strength and keep working hard,” she said in her post.
“Although it was only a short time since my last performance, I wanted to show you a great performance, but I don’t feel like I managed to be professional.
“To be honest, I don’t remember anything,” she added.
She said “it would be amazing if everything went the way” she wanted it to, thanking fans for their support.
“I’ll try hard… I want to thank you for always adoring, loving, and cherishing me ever since I was young, despite my shortcomings,” she wrote.
“I’m really okay! Don’t worry about me! I hope everyone has a good night… sleep well!!”
At Area, Hyuna’s management team, confirmed the star was resting up following her collapse.
Hyuna was diagnosed with vasovagal syncope in 2020 – a condition that causes a sudden drop in blood pressure and heart rate – which can be triggered by stress, fatigue or extreme dieting.
Fans and fellow K-Pop stars have shared their concerns, including Way – a member of the girl group Crayon Pop.

She called out Hyuna’s recent rapid weight loss in a video titled Why K-Pop Diets Fail + How To Succeed, posted to her YouTube channel.
“Hasn’t Hyuna gained a bit of weight lately?” she said in the video.
“I saw her Instagram post where she said, “You used to be skin and bones,” blaming herself, and I felt really sorry for her.
“It’s good if she’s decided to go on a healthy diet, but she also wrote, “I ate a lot of c***”, of course, eating is fine. But why use such words?,” Way said.
Hyuna rose to fame when she was 15 years old, following a notorious path shared with many young woman in the K-Pop industry.
She debuted in Wonder Girls as the group’s main dancer, before health issues saw her leave the group.

The veteran later confessed to restricting her diet to one piece of sushi a day in order to maintain a weight of 88lbs.
“Back then, I’d survive on a single piece of kimbap while pushing through all the scheduled activities,” she said while on TV programme B-Season.
“That destroyed me, by 26, I was so unhealthy.”
The singer shared more of her struggles with her health on Korean talk show Point of Omniscient Interference, admitting lack of food led to her developing the fainting condition peripheral neuritis.
“I used to eat very little, there were times when I would go a week without eating, and I even developed peripheral neuritis,’ she said.
“Whenever my weight dropped too low, it would trigger it.
“I fainted 12 times in a month.”
Hyuna returned to the music scene as a singer in the girl group 4Minute, before debuting as a solo artist.
