The Zwilling Enfinigy 1.5 L Kettle and the Enfinigy Pro 1.5 L Kettle were sold across a range of high street and department stores.

This included , , Robert Dyas, Fenwick and Selfridges.

The German retailer, primarily specialising in kitchen knives, has sold domestic and professional kitchenware products for nearly 300 years.

Alarms were raised when users noticed that the kettle’s handle may loosen or break off entirely during use.

This fault can lead to a risk of scalding injuries, both for users and bystanders, including small children.

Zwilling said that one case of second degree burns had been reported already, caused directly by this manufacturing fault.

Owners are now advised to stop using the product with immediate effect.

The kettle comes in various colours, including black, silver, gold and rose, and previously cost over £100.

Zwilling said in response to the recall: “We at Zwilling are committed to ensuring our products are safe and our customers are satisfied.

“We have therefore decided to recall the water kettles. You will of course receive your back.”
