All Progressives Congress, APC, in Kebbi State has elected a new set of state officials following the conduct of its state congress at FIFA Stadium Goru in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday.
The congress, which drew delegates from all 21 local government areas of the state, was supervised by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and concluded without reports of violence or disruptions.
Alhaji Abubakar Kana-Zuru was elected State Chairman alongside 29 other members of the State Executive Committee.
Governor Nasir Idris, who attended the exercise, noted that the congresses from ward to state level were conducted peacefully.
He urged party members to continue supporting the newly elected officials and to maintain unity ahead of upcoming elections.
Officials from the APC national headquarters and local congress committees described the exercise as orderly and transparent.
Former Governor and current Minister for Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Atiku Bagudu, also attended and said the smooth conduct reflected effective coordination among party stakeholders.
Delegates and party members were present from early morning, participating in the exercise across the state.
