Kano police arrest 107 suspects for armed robbery, kidnapping, others in August

The Kano State Police Command has revealed that 107 suspects were arrested in August 2025 for various offenses, including armed robbery, kidnapping, human trafficking, drug trafficking, and theft.

The Police Commissioner, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori revealed this during a press briefing on Monday.

According to him, the items recovered include an AK-47 rifle, seven fabricated guns, 11 live rounds of ammunition, motor vehicles, motorcycles, cows, cutlasses, knives, and large quantities of illicit drugs.

He further stated that in 2025 alone, the Command had recovered a total of 473 dangerous weapons and a large quantity of illicit drugs since the launching of ‘Operation Kukan Kura’ on 1st July, 2025 to date.
 
CP Bakori also urged residents to promptly report crimes or suspicious activities to the nearest police station or through the Command’s emergency hotlines.
