For the creation of the new TV series, a film crew has settled upon Upminster to become Harry Potter’s first home.

In the previous films, Privet Drive was originally on a street in Bracknell on the other side of London.

For those who are unfamiliar, Springfield Gardens is found in the suburb of Upminster in the London Borough of Havering.

Upminster has great connections into central London as it’s actually the last stop on the District Line.

You can reach central London in 45 minutes on the tube line.

Or what’s even faster is taking the c2c train from Upminster to Fenchurch Street in just over 30 minutes.

Aside from it set to be a popular street for fans to take snaps outside the magical house, Upminster also has its very own windmill.

It is a Grade II listed building that was built in the early 1800s and is open to visitors during certain days throughout the year.

For even more history , there’s the Upminster Tithe Barn which houses the Museum of Nostalgia.

The museum houses a collection of over 14,500 items including everything from vintage toys and games to household appliances.
