A prominent member of the Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign Council and former Kaduna State Commissioner for Finance, Hon. Ismail Aliyu Makarfi, has formally resigned from the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Makarfi, who played a key role in the party’s success during the 2023 general elections, announced his departure in a letter addressed to the APC ward chairman in Makarfi Local Government Area.

Although he did not state a specific reason for his resignation, political observers suggest it may be connected to the ongoing wave of defections and realignments ahead of the 2027 elections.

“I remain grateful for the experiences and relationships I have built within the party,”; he wrote in the brief letter, signalling an amicable exit from the ruling party.

His resignation is considered a significant political development in Kaduna State, where he has held various strategic positions and is known to have contributed to the emergence of Governor Uba Sani and President Bola Tinubu.
