JUDE BELLINGHAM must represent England at the 2026 World Cup.

Bellingham was excluded from this month’s international squad as he recovers from a shoulder operation.

However, Courtois believes the 22-year-old star will return in November and will also be part of the England squad for next summer’s finals.

When asked if the Real Madrid goalkeeper anticipates that his friend Bellingham will join him at the tournament in America, he responded: “Yes, absolutely. I can't imagine England without Jude. He should definitely be in the England squad.”

Bellingham has made five appearances for Real Madrid since undergoing surgery following the Club World Cup in the summer.

Nonetheless, he has only started one of those matches – the 5-2 loss to Atletico in the Madrid derby.

Courtois, who is on the verge of securing his own World Cup spot after helping Belgium defeat Wales 4-2 on Monday night, added: “I don’t think it’s an issue.

“Jude is recovering from an injury, a surgery, and he needs to regain his fitness.

“He needs to play. He hasn’t had many minutes, so it's better for both England and Real Madrid that he focuses on training and building up his physical conditioning.

“Now we have a few challenging games coming up, and hopefully, he will contribute because he is an exceptional player. He is one of our top players.

“I’m not sure if Tuchel has contacted him or not, but I am confident that by November he will be back in the England squad. You want a player like Jude in the team.”

Xabi Alonso’s Spanish giants will face Getafe in LaLiga on Sunday before a crucial double-header.

Bellingham and his teammates will host Juventus in the Champions League before their El Clasico clash against rivals Barcelona at the Bernabeu on October 26.

Real Madrid will also travel to Liverpool for Europe's premier competition on November 4.

Courtois stated: “He has been recovering from a long injury for four months, so you cannot rush the process.

“If you do, you risk muscle injuries which could lead to additional weeks out. It's essential to achieve optimal fitness before returning to play.”
