STRICTLY Come Dancing host Josh Widdicombe has opened up about fears ahead of the first live show – after being slammed on his debut.
The comedian, 43, is one of the beloved show’s new presenters, alongside and .
Viewers have already seen this trio in , but Saturday (September 26) marks their first-ever live show at the helm.
Speaking ahead of taking the big step, Josh said: “What could possibly go wrong?
“Loads of things, but let’s not focus on them. I think it’s going to be really, really fun.
“It’s going to feel utterly surreal, just as terrifying as the first one.
“Will it ever stop being terrifying? I hope not, because hosting something like this should be the best kind of terrifying.”
Upon watching the launch show, fans were incredibly with many saying he looked “out of place.”
Viewers also spotted the comedian had adopted.
Josh himself shared: “It’s the most brilliantly terrifying thing I’ve done, possibly since my first ever stand-up gig.
“I had so much adrenaline on the night that I had to have two naps the day after!
“I don’t think at any point since getting the job had it felt real until we heard the music start up and [announcer] Alan Dedicoat say our names.
“The whole thing was a mix of joy and exhaustion off the back of fear – and totally and utterly thrilling.”
Asked whether he would adopt any pre-show rituals before live shows, Josh answered: “Before comedy gigs I splash my face with water, but I can’t do that here because I’ll have make-up on and it would run everywhere!
“But I’m going to get a speaker in my dressing room so I can listen to music really loudly.
“So I’d like to take this opportunity to apologise to Johannes, who’s in the dressing room next to me, because that’s how I’m going to get myself hyped up for every show. Before you ask: The Beatles.”

Brendan, 50, was one of the show’s original professional dancers, appearing from 2004 to 2017.
He said: “I feel a bit sorry for him because he’s a bit like a lamb to the slaughter.
“He looked like a little lamb at times but not because he wasn’t good at his job.”
“He’s not a dancer, he’s a comedian. He is a good presenter and he’s fun to watch.”
