The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Jigawa State has responded to the recent endorsement of Kabiru Tanimu Turaki by the northern caucus of the PDP as the sole candidate for the position of National Chairman.

He clarified that the Northern PDP caucus, in its meeting last Monday, had resolved that the National Chairman position should be allocated to the North-West and subsequently instructed stakeholders in the region to propose a suitable candidate for the role.
According to him, “In line with this directive, we agreed to convene a meeting on Thursday at around 8:00 PM, chaired by the governor of Zamfara State. To our surprise, on Wednesday, those who had encouraged us to nominate a candidate from the North-West proceeded to nominate their preferred candidate.”
“Our leader, Dr. Sule Lamido, was only informed about the North caucus meeting an hour before it commenced that night.”
