The Jigawa State Executive Council has approved the sum of N2,651,596,547.52 for the 2026 Hajj operations.

The Commissioner for Information, Youth, Sports, and Culture, Sagir Musa Ahmad, revealed this during a press briefing on Thursday.

β€œThe Council sanctioned N2,651,596,547.52 for the 2026 Hajj operations following a presentation made by the Secretary to the Government (SSG),” he stated.

The allocated funds will be utilized for logistics, welfare, medical services, administrative arrangements, and other essential components to ensure a seamless and well-organized Hajj experience for Jigawa pilgrims.

The Council also approved N1,303,545,686.00 for bursary allowances benefiting 19,716 newly screened students (12,638 males and 7,088 females) across 77 tertiary institutions.

The commissioner clarified that the bursary allowance aims to support education, alleviate financial burdens on families, and encourage academic excellence.
