JESSIE J has reached out to Davina McCall to offer guidance on breast cancer following her own battle with the illness.

The 37-year-old singer expressed her determination to let the former host know that there is a path forward, even though they have never met.

She mentioned that she would continue to speak publicly on the topic, as it has been beneficial in saving lives.

Jessie, who has a two-year-old son named Sky, with her Danish partner, 41, stated: “I’ve never spoken to [Davina] before, but I reached out and said, ‘This is what has helped me, perhaps it can help you’.”

When asked what advice she offered Davina, Jessie responded: “The same thing I tell anyone who is pregnant, has had a baby, experienced a miscarriage, or been diagnosed with cancer — ‘this is your journey’.”

The Price Tag singer encouraged her to “create the support system you need to thrive,” which for her included her mother, Rose, partner Chanan, and Sky.

Jessie, also known for her hits Do It Like A Dude, Domino, and Bang Bang, shared that upon receiving her diagnosis, she feared her life might be over. She said: “That was my immediate fear — I’m going to die, and he (Sky) won’t have a mother. That thought broke my heart.”

Despite her management team urging her to cancel everything, she refused to stop working and postponed surgery to perform at a gig.

Jessie remarked: “What is this narrative that suggests you need to pause your life during personal or difficult times?”

She underwent a single mastectomy afterward and returned to the stage in September.

Recently, she revealed that her cancer is now gone but understands it could return. She stated: “There’s a possibility it could come back, but until then, we are living life.”

Meanwhile, mother-of-three Davina disclosed last month that she had undergone surgery for breast cancer.

At 58, she expressed that she felt “incredibly fortunate” to have detected it early.

She commented: “I am so relieved to have had it removed and to know that it hasn’t spread.”

Jessie has committed to continuing to share her experience. She told Women’s magazine: “I frequently hear from individuals who say that a friend checked her breasts after seeing me speak about it.

“They discovered a lump, and it turned out to be cancer, but they caught it early. I get goosebumps. So, I will keep discussing the importance of awareness.”
