JEREMY Clarkson has revealed he was once thrown in jail after being arrested by French police.
The legend, 64, opened up about his ordeal overseas when he was arrested in – all because of a slug.
Viewers learned about the bizarre incident in the latest series of , which dropped on on Friday.
Fans were left in stitches as the star recounted how the slimy situation with the unsuspecting creature somehow landed him in a French jail.
The former host now spends his days tackling the highs and lows of life at in .
said: “I once had to go to prison in France because of a slug.
“True story. I went to a restaurant called La Pomme d’Amour and there was a slug in my lettuce.
“The man was so apologetic. He said: ‘You can drink as much as you like on the house’.
“I was only 19 so I thought: ‘I will then!’ And I did. I was arrested a bit later because I was a bit wobbly.
“I was trying to explain to the policeman that I’d eaten a slug and the man had given me a lot of drink.
“But I couldn’t think what the French for slug was. I said: ‘Je mange un escargot sans maison’.
“They just thought: ‘This man is definitely paralytic’. I got thrown into prison because I didn’t know the French for slug.”;;

However, Harvey then rammed the yellow board into the leg of the popularpersonality.
He fumed in response: “You’ll break my rib, man. This is just f***ing brute force.”;;
Once they eventually moved Harvey into the horsebox, Kaleb was left reeling.
He remarked to Harriet: “That board went straight into my rib.”;;
Harriet seemed concerned as she responded with just two words”;; “Not good.”;;
Kaleb then commented that he needed a form of treatment for the swelling.
He added: “I need a bag of peas. It cures everything.”;;
