In an exclusive interview, the Troublemaker singer (which is currently being filmed) because he was too busy putting his body through hell on his 400km challenge for .

But it’s all paid off handsomely – last night .

As he crossed the finish line yesterday, following his mammoth trek from Manchester to London, Olly said: “I was asked to do for this season.

“I would have definitely done it. I love the show.

“But because I had this challenge and my brother-in-law’s wedding, this time of year was always going to be busy.”

Yesterday he finally made it to the London Stadium after five days of running and cycling – and causing chaos on the roads along the way.

Things veered even more off course during the rowing section, which Olly admitted was the “last thing” he wanted to do, confessing: “I smashed into someone’s boat.

“They were cheering me on and I just went straight into the side of them.”

But it wasn’t just his dignity taking a battering.

Olly, who has had four knee operations, revealed he was in agony throughout the challenge.

He said: “Every step, I can feel every operation I’ve had,” then joked: “My hamstring is on holiday at the moment – it’s thinking about hitch-hiking home.”

Despite the pain, the challenge clearly meant a lot to him after he took a life-changing trip earlier this year to , where he saw Unicef’s work first hand while meeting families fleeing war in Ukraine.

After surviving five brutal days on the road, Olly is now hoping all the training might pay off when takes place on May 31.

He said: “This challenge is a chance for me to prove that I can do it. I might play longer than people expect.”

If his hamstring makes it to kick-off, that is.
