He was even joined by a Prem great for the moment, with ex- and Fulham stopper Edwin Van Der Sar on set for the fun.

But unfortunately for the Dutchman, he was ranked just sixth on Carragher’s list — despite winning four titles during a glittering spell at Old Trafford.

In first place was Petr Cech, who topped the Prem table four times with before a stint at

Second went to Peter Schmeichel, regarded alongside Van Der Sar as one of United’s greatest-ever goalies.

Third on the list then went to Alisson, who plays between the sticks for Carragher’s former side Liverpool.

He edged out former United stopper David De Gea, who took fourth spot ahead of ex-Chelsea goalie Thibaut Courtois.

Van Der Sar was next up on the list, with former Man City ace Ederson in seventh.

Eighth spot went to Everton legend Neville Southall, with ex-Arsenal icon David Seaman ninth.

Interestingly, there was room for another Liverpool favourite with Pepe Reina completing the top 10.

However, Carragher’s list saw him miss out a number of iconic Premier League glovemen.

His former England teammate David James was not given a spot on the list.

And there were also no places for either ex-Man City title winner Joe Hart or Newcastle hero Shay Given.

Fans were quick to react on social media to Carragher’s list, with many branding it “criminal.”

One said: “This is absolute s***e.”

Another declared: “Clown material this.”

One noted: “Incredibly insulting.”

Another added: “Actually laughable.”
