re-signed him from for £31million last year only for Italian keeper to then join from PSG.

Asked if he is leaving City, said: “You never know, whether I move, whether I don’t move, I do what’s right for me and my career.

“It’s obviously been very challenging the past season, but looking back, I’ve learned so much, I’ve developed so much.

“I thought I’d had a lot of experiences up to this point in my career, but this was a new experience for me in everything.

“It was obviously very tough. Some days were harder than others.”

So, does he need to be a number one somewhere to play for England?

He said: “I think history says yes, I think there hasn’t been a goalie starting for any of the top nations that isn’t a number one at the club.

“The two trophies were really nice. Every day I just thought: ‘Keep improving, keep trying to win the day, and see where it takes me.’

“Out of the cups, I got as many games as I could, because we got to the final in both.

“At the end of the day, I knew whenever I played I had to perform, and then as long as you perform, then everything takes care of itself.”

As for Guardiola leaving the club, he added: “Everyone knows he was an incredible manager, probably one of the best, if not the best to ever manage.

“Whatever happens next season in terms of the manager, because obviously nothing’s been confirmed, then all the players work under that manager, it’s just how goes.

“When Pep left, it was obviously sad, because he’s obviously so successful, and a lot of the new lads, we all really, really enjoyed him.

“But it’s just football that everyone moves on at certain points.”

Trafford, 23, who has two England caps, arrived in his room at the team hotel in Kansas City to find .

He said: “Everyone has just sort of been exploring the hotel and all the different things to do.

“There’s a hoop and then just a lot of communal areas, a recovery place, pool, a sauna, a relaxation place.

“There was a little left in my room and there were photos, like a slideshow, and I can see my sisters.

“It was a nice surprise. The first photo was me and my missus. Then I had a box that my missus made for us. It was quite a nice little personal touch.

“She put a few things to open at different stages. She put two face masks in there! Very thoughtful. And she put in a Lego set.

“I told her that we’ll probably be away for a month and a half, seven weeks. She took my word for it and put a thing in for every different week.”

Asked about the Lego, he added: “A tractor. I’m a farmer, aren’t I? She gave me a tractor to build.

“It’s not the biggest. I haven’t built it yet. We’ve only been here a day. I don’t want to jump the gun too early.”
