The couple are separated and have independently requested places for , set to take place in October or November.
If they attend, it could be the first time they have come face-to-face with since he and his accomplice Robert Thompson’s trial in 1993.
The killers, then both ten, kidnapped two-year-old James from a shopping centre in before torturing and murdering him.
They served eight years and were released in 2001, though Venables, 43, has been over child abuse images.
He was refused parole in 2023.
