JAMES Bond has been banned from having a canine companion, The Sun on Sunday can reveal.
The family of 007’s creator, Ian Fleming — who have creative control over the books, including new characters — have said no to a dog.

Fast Show star , who has written five Young Bond books, said he discovered the pooch prohibition when he tried to introduce a mutt.
Higson said: “In my first book I gave Bond a dog. I thought to myself, ‘He’s on an adventure, he should have a dog.’
“And they said, ‘No, Ian hated dogs.’ So the dog didn’t make it into the book.”
Speaking to a podcast, he added: “There’s only so many clues you can dig up with your paws!”
It is not the first time the estate has barred a writer’s ideas for Bond, played most recently by .
Author Vaseem Khan was told last year that he could not mention cars — 007’s go-to luxury motor — in his Bond novels over fears of “treading on the toes” of the 007 movie-makers.
