"25-Year-Old Female Prison Officer Behind Bars Vows to Wait for Her Drug Kingpin Love in Heartfelt Valentine's Card"

A PRISON officer promised to wait out her drug kingpin lover’s 12-year sentence in a gushing Valentine’s Day card found in the lag’s cell.

Jai Gascoyne, who has since been jailed following her affair, wrote to Dil Nawaz: “Anyone can say I love you but not everyone can wait and prove it”.

The card continued: “Happy Valentine’s Day D, here’s to the first of forever and I can’t wait for the future.”

The 25-year-old prison guard at HMP Buckley Hall signed off “love you always”.

Her heartfelt card was found when Nawaz’s cell was searched after prison anti-corruption officials received intelligence.

Officers also found the 30-year-old wearing a silver bracelet engraved with a “J”, a match to a “D” necklace Gascoyne was wearing when she was searched.

The former prison guard claimed this was for her dad, but she was also found with a second necklace engraved with Arabic script that she could not explain the meaning of.

Manchester Crown Court heard how it was thought to be an Islamic prayer for protection.

Officers later discovered the prison guard had ordered two bracelets and two necklaces with pendants on Amazon.

In Gascoyne’s car officer’s found a ring in a box alongside a love letter also signed off “I love you always”.

The same investigation also uncovered that Nawaz’s brother Haq Nawaz, 32, was involved in an affair with another prison officer, Elle Walron, 27.

The brothers were both locked up for heading a OCG gang with their other brother Asim Nawaz.

It is believed the gang distributed between £2.15m and £3.1m worth of crack cocaine and heroin over a 12-month period.

On top of Haq and Dil Nawaz’s sentences – 13 years and 10 months and 12 years respectively – the pair will now serve an additional 12 months for their secret relationships.

The prison officers were also sentenced on August 7, Gascoyne was handed a 16- month sentence while Walton will serve 13 months

Gascoyne, of Dukinfield, Greater Manchester, pleaded guilty to two counts of misconduct in public office.

She also had inappropriate contact with a further two prisoners, Manchester Crown Court heard.

Walton, of Bacup, , pleaded guilty to one count.

Alongside the cards and jewellery, the couples sent hundreds of messages and exchanged gifts and money.

Gascoyne and Dil Nawaz even declared their “love” for each other in their messages and he discussed “wanting to have sex”.

The court heard how he suggested the officer could take him to the chapel or “open his door and go in his room.”

Dil Nawaz said he wanted “companionship” as he struggled with his mental following a prison attack, the court heard.

Meanwhile, his brother had “‘wanted someone to talk to” due to feeling isolated from his family.

Recorder Ben Lawrence said their case “strikes at the heart of the public faith in the prison system”.

He added that the sentences would be a “deterrent” for “the next young female prison officer who considers starting a relationship with a prisoner.”
