A member of National Assembly, Senator Sharafadeen Alli Oyo, has called on all stakeholders to rise up and eliminate all forms of barriers hindering women participation in leadership positions.

Alli who represents Oyo South Senatorial District, made the call in a statement made available to DAILY POST in commemoration of this year’s International Women Day.

Alli who was elected on the platform of All Progressives Congress, APC, described women as pillars of families and communities.

He said that there are many barriers hindering women participation in leadership positions in Nigeria.

According to him, the annual celebration serves as a reminder of the need to promote gender equality in the country.

The lawmaker also advised that investing in women and girls will not only strengthen families but will also accelerate national development and help build a more inclusive and prosperous society.
