THE 22-year-old Italian woman killed in a horror shooting at a rave in Switzerland has been pictured for the first time.

Waitress Maria Spinelli died after north of Zurich, early on Sunday morning.

She had recently moved to nearby Oftringen hoping to build a new life in .

Matteo Perazzetti, mayor of Città Sant’Angelo, said: “She had left for Switzerland, carrying with the dreams and hopes of a girl who wanted to conquer her future.

“That life, still to be lived, was tragically taken from her.”

The mayor said he spoke to the Spinelli family, to express his “deepest condolences”.

Armed police have launched a massive manhunt for the killer or killers who wounded five others at the event.

Cops believe more than one shooter may have been involved.

Different weapons, including a possible automatic firearm, were apparently fired from different positions into the crowd.

In a statement, Aargau Cantonal said: “Possible motives as well as the exact circumstances of the are still unclear.”

Four men and one woman, aged between 24 and 27, were rushed to hospital.

“They are suffering from injuries ranging from minor to serious,” the statement added.

Some 3,500 people attended the annual techno party between 3pm on Saturday and 2am on Sunday.

Swiss newspaper Blick reported that the shots were fired before 3am local time on the sidelines of the Aarauer Rave.

A video obtained by the outlet shows the sound of multiple shots being fired at 2.35am.

One witness initially mistook the shots for fireworks.

But when someone shouted “Everyone down!” she ran for cover and hid under the DJ booth with other terrified party goers.

Swiss DJ Tekibo, who was performing at the rave, said he “lost an important friend” in the shooting.

In a post on social media he wrote: “What happened at Aarauer rave is absolutely heartbreaking and something that should never have happened at our scene!

“I’m still trying to process what happened cause I lost an important friend and don’t have the right words for it.”

“RIP M”, he added. M is believed to be Maria.

Police have launched a large-scale operation with the Aargau Cantonal Disaster Response Unit (KKE) and an army Super Puma helicopter deployed to the scene.

Armed officers were spotted patrolling the highway up to 30km away from the shooting site.

Anyone with videos or photos of the incident is asked to send them to police to aid the investigation.

The shooting is a rare event in the Alpine nation, despite its long tradition of gun ownership.

The last major shooting occurred in 2001, when 14 members of the parliament and local government of the canton of Zug, near Lucerne, were killed by a gunman who then took his own life.
