GARY NEVILLE reckons Arsenal will retain their title because they have the best defence in the Premier League by “a million miles”.

This summer, the Gunners have added £55million to ‘s defensive group, which was already chock-full of top stars.

And on a weekend when shipped three goals and shipped two en route to victories over Brighton and Ipswich, Neville was reminded why are fancied to go back-to-back.

He told Sky Sports: “It’s incredible what Arsenal have done, really, to sign Ezri Konsa.

“They’ve already got eight amazing defenders and now they’ve signed another really good centre-half.

“It’s almost like they’re doubling down and saying, ‘We’re not going to concede goals, we’re just going to make sure we’re better than everyone else defensively by a million miles’. And they are.

“That will win them a title again.”

Konsa was at the Emirates to watch Arsenal thrash newly-promoted Coventry last Friday.

And he is in contention to feature at old club tonight as the North Londoners bid to continue their perfect start.

Arsenal have talented players all over the pitch, but it is their defensive unit which, Neville thinks, will make it a tough night for the hosts at Villa Park.

He continued: “If you were to ask if you’d swap Arsenal’s front players for United’s, Liverpool’s, Chelsea’s, you might actually keep the front players.

“From a defensive perspective or in midfield, you’d swap all of them.

“When you think of [Jurrien] Timber, [Riccardo] Calafiori, [William] Saliba and Gabriel, that’s a proper back-four with the goalkeeper behind them.

“That’s the only real team I look at right now.”
