Is Attack on Titan coming to Netflix?

Published on April 24, 2021 at 06:31 PM

For those unfamiliar, Attack on Titan is a critically acclaimed anime series based on the popular Japanese manga of the same name that many subscribers would love to see get added to Netflix‘s already impressive lineup.

Netflix has an incredibly impressive lineup of anime titles, including originals like the Blood of Zeus, Castlevania, DOTA: Dragon's Blood, and Pacific Rim: The Black, along with licensed endeavors like Bleach, One Piece, and Full Metal Alchemist, just to name a few. But many subscribers who enjoy the visually exceptional and enthralling anime genre are more than eager for the streaming powerhouse to add the well-received show Attack on Titan to the roster.

The anime series takes place in a world where giant humanoid beings called Titans have driven most of mankind into three major cities with walls to keep out the people-eating beast. Attack on Titan‘s story focuses on Eren Jaeger, Mikasa Ackerman, and Armin Arlert, who join the Scout Regiment, an elite group of soldiers bold enough to take on Titans in order to avenge the destruction of their hometown at the hands of a Colossal Titan.

The show has won numerous honors and distinguished accolades since it premiered on April 7, 2013. Its fanbase is massive compared to other titles in the genre and the critically acclaimed affair spans four seasons of over 75 entries of epic action-adventure that would definitely make a fine addition to Netflix's sensational library of content.

Is Netflix adding Attack on Titan?

Netflix's history with Attack on Titan has been unique, to say the least. The show left the streamer for a month in January 2019 before returning. Then it left once again, and What's On Netflix reported that Netflix in Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States have all allowed their licenses of the hit anime series to expire in February of 2021.

For now, there are no official plans for the series to return to Netflix. While this is not great to hear, fans should not give up hope yet, as Attack on Titan could definitely return at some point in the future.

Stay tuned into Netflix life, and we'll be sure to let subscribers know the second anything comes up regarding Attack on Titan‘s return to Netflix.
