Iran missile damages US Embassy in Tel Aviv

Published on June 16, 2025 at 08:59 AM

The United States ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, confirmed on Monday that the US Embassy in Tel Aviv suffered minor damage from a nearby Iranian missile strike.

Huckabee said no injuries to American personnel were reported.

DAILY POST reports that Iran launched a barrage of missiles on Israeli cities early Monday in retaliation for Israel’s recent strikes on Iranian military targets.

Recall that the Israeli military had earlier urged residents in Tel Aviv to seek shelter as sirens blared across the city.

Images from the scene showed significant destruction in parts of the coastal city, with several buildings gutted by the blasts.

“Some minor damage from concussions of Iranian missile hits near Embassy Branch in @TelAviv but no injuries to US personnel,”; Huckabee posted on X (formerly Twitter). He added that the main US Embassy in Jerusalem would remain closed for the day, with “shelter in place”; orders still active.

Tensions have escalated sharply between the two longtime adversaries.

Israel claims its strikes last week targeted Iranian military and nuclear installations, killing top commanders and atomic scientists.

However, a senior US official revealed that President Donald Trump had intervened to dissuade Israel from proceeding with an alleged plan to assassinate Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Speaking to reporters on Sunday, Trump urged both sides to seek a peaceful resolution, saying, “Sometimes they have to fight it out,”; but added, “They need to make a deal.”;

The latest round of attacks has raised alarm over the possibility of a broader regional conflict engulfing the Middle East.
