CASEMIRO’S seemingly inevitable move to Inter Miami could reportedly cost the MLS side an extra £750,000 due to a little-known transfer rule.

But David Beckham’s franchise still have one obstacle to clear before completing the signing of the former star.

That is because, according to the Daily Mail , rivals currently own Casemiro’s ‘discovery rights’ after registering their interest in the midfielder first.

The unique MLS rule gives clubs priority when negotiating with players they have identified before their rivals.

It means Miami could now be forced to strike a deal with Galaxy to secure the rights before can officially join.

Galaxy are believed to want around £750,000 ($1million) to step aside and allow the switch to go through.

The Brazilian previously held talks with LA Galaxy over a potential switch and was offered the chance to move there.

However, none of that money would go to Man United, with the payment instead being an agreement between the two American clubs.

The rule has faced criticism from some MLS clubs who believe it causes unnecessary complications when trying to attract stars from Europe.

And after spending time in Miami with his family, the former midfielder is said to have decided on joining his old rivals, Lionel Messi and .

Casemiro ended a four-year stay at after the club decided not to extend his deal, allowing his contract to expire.

However, the midfield legend ended his tenure at Old Trafford by scoring nine goals in the Premier League – his best return in his entire career.
