The family of an injured EastEnders crew member has released a new update regarding his health following a horrific fall that left him in a coma.
Electrician Connor, who is part of the BBC production team, was traveling when he experienced the accident.

Connor has spent nine days in a coma and has undergone multiple life-saving surgeries, with his mother describing it as a “miracle” that he survived.
Today, his worried family provided an update on his condition.
A statement read: “Hello everyone, we want to keep you informed about Connor’s progress.
“He has now been taken off sedation and oxygen and has moved out of ICU.
“He is sitting up in bed and is able to eat soft foods.
“Denise is still by his side in Colombia, and he is aware of the GoFundMe campaign, feeling overwhelmed by everyone’s love and support.
“He is alert and in good spirits, which is remarkable given his injuries.”
The statement continued: “He is still awaiting surgeries for his fractures.
“We are in communication with the hospital to ensure he receives the necessary care to be able to fly home, but for now, he remains hospitalized in Colombia.
“Thank you all for your support and well wishes during this incredibly challenging time.
“With love, Denise & family.”
FUNDRAISING FOR MEDICAL EXPENSES
Connor’s family is currently striving to raise £30,000 to cover his substantial medical expenses.
The EastEnders star was the first to initiate the fundraising campaign, sharing the GoFundMe page on Instagram and stating: “Please support Connor and his family during this devastating time.
“He is a wonderful person, respected by everyone who works at the studios; please help if you can, thank you.”
More cast members quickly followed Jake's lead, with him personally donating £200.

It read: “After nine days in a coma, he is now off mechanical ventilation and breathing with minimal assistance.
“He remains in ICU and is still under light sedation, but he is aware of Denise's presence and is responding to her.
“He was scheduled for another surgery today, but it has been postponed, and we hope to secure a date for next week.
