The Imo State chapter of the Action Peoples Party (APP) has initiated a membership registration campaign across the 305 wards in the state in preparation for the upcoming 2027 general elections.
The party, in a statement released by its spokesperson, Cajethan Duke, emphasized that this initiative is designed to solidify the party’s presence at the grassroots level.
Duke clarified that the decision to launch this exercise was made by the Interim State Executive Committee of the party, led by Ernest Njesi, who officially announced that the registration will commence on Saturday, November 22, 2025.
The APP spokesperson noted that this exercise, which will exclusively involve physical membership registration, represents a significant step in the party’s commitment to transforming Imo for the benefit of all its citizens.
He stated, “In light of this and in accordance with the provisions of the party’s constitution, the Interim State Executive Committee has authorized the formation of local government area membership registration committees and the appointment of ward anchor persons throughout the state.
“The complete list of local government area registration committees and ward anchor persons will be published in due course.”
Duke urged, “We encourage all eligible citizens to register and join APP’s vision of rescuing the state from economic stagnation.”
