Published on May 29, 2025 at 12:21 PM

Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River State has told a large crowd of supporters and aides that he is now ready to give attention to his second term politicking.

The governor declared that he is done with actual governance in the state and will resume active politicking towards his re-election in 2027.

He spoke when he addressed a huge crowd of party followers and other spectators under the aegis of Cross River Political Network, CRISPON as part of programmes marking the administration’s second anniversary, which mobilized crowds to witness their affirmation of Otu for second term.

Otu said, “As from next week after the 29 May Democracy Day when I complete two years in office, I will resume and devote more time for politicking towards 2027. I have one two years of real governance.

“In these two years, I have not disappointed the state. I will never disappoint in the course of governance. We’ll continue to gun towards towards achieving our programmes.

“What I’ve done in these two years, I never imagined I could have done it. But I have enjoyed your overall support “, he stated.

He explained that having aligned with the centre during the time of his predecessor, the state has achieved much more and has positioned her for better things to come.

The governor said the favours which his state has gotten, have been a result of President Bola Tinubu’s magnanimity, adding that there are indications that they will get more from being in the national ruling party, APC.

“Cross River won’t be cheated anymore”;, he maintained.

He assured the crowd that his administration was poised to impact the populace deeper.

Speaking earlier, the Director General of CRISPON, Prince Mike Nku Abuo said they gathered to recognise the giant strides of Tinubu and Otu in their different administrations, which reasons they called for automatic tickets for their second terms.

He assured that his organisation will continue to reach out to the general public and to impact them.
